Other Policies That Impact Teen Driver Safety

In addition to Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL), there are several other legislative policies proven to reduce teen crash risk. Teens need you to advocate for their safety.  A person’s greatest lifetime risk of crashing occurs in the first 6 to 12 months after receiving a license. There are policies that focus on a specific teen driver crash injury risk. Although these policies have been proven to save many lives, there is still more research-based legislation to move toward passage. With your help and advocacy, this additional legislation will become reality.
