Our Mission & Vision
Mission and Vision
teendriversource.org was developed by a team of injury prevention researchers and outreach communications professionals from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute to meet the expressed needs of key stakeholders and stakeholder organizations in teen driver safety.
Teen driver safety stakeholders are those who are best positioned to support and guide teens to safely navigate the first years of driving and ultimately become safe responsible drivers. These stakeholders include school-based educators, community and workplace-based educators, driver education instructors, adolescent health and safety advocates, traffic safety and licensing program coordinators, youth leaders, mentors, and parents.
This site’s mission is to empower stakeholders with evidence-based resources and information that can make teen driver safety a priority issue in their communities, as well as help them implement educational strategies to address the number one cause of death among our nation’s youth--teen driver-related crashes.
This site’s mission and vision directly reflect the mission and vision of the Teen Driver Safety Research Team at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia Research Institute. This multidisciplinary team is dedicated to advancing the science to reduce teen driver crashes and their related deaths and injuries.
