The Columbus Dispatch -- In this feature story, Patty Huang, MD,a developmental pediatrician at CHOP and a member of the Young Driver Research team at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention, talks about her research recently published in the Journal of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics that explores how teens with a high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (HFASD) handle driving. As the teen and his mother interviewed for the story show, giving permission for this special needs population of teens to drive is a difficult decision for parents to make.
