Enhance Their Education
Enhancing Education To Keep Teens Safe On The RoadWe’ve turned this website into integrated health curricula for your use in schools. “Enhancing Education To Keep Teens Safe On The Road” is a suite of research-based educational resources designed to help you address the leading public health threat to teens – car crashes. Crashes with teens behind the wheel kill more teens (ages 15 to 19) than cancer, homicide, and suicide combined. These free, downloadable instructional materials not only meet National Health Education Standards and the US Department of Health and Human Services’ Healthy People 2020 objectives related to teen driving, but also enable you to conduct evidence-based learning events for teens in classroom or community settings. Whether you’re a health educator, driver education instructor, or community leader, use of these comprehensive training materials will ensure you reach teens with the latest research, tools, and actionable tips to become safe drivers and passengers. We advise using the integrated curriculum in its entirety, but each skill-based module can also be given individually. Here’s the recommended order for presenting the modules, with each module building upon the skills learned in the previous one: Module 1 - Become A Responsible Driver
Module 2 - Communicate To Avoid Risky Situations
Module 3 - Decision-Making and Driving
Module 4 - Set Goals For Driving
For more detailed information on topics covered in the individual modules, download the Reference Guide.Looking for parent-focused materials? View and download them here. |
